The paper follows the development of the innovative thrust inceptor called the Collective and Throttle Lever (CATL) at the Center for Aviation at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in collaboration with the Leonardo Helicopter Division (LHD). The CATL was tested in the ZHAW real-time simulator by LHD Test Pilots after the implementation of several modifications discussed and agreed upon with the partner company. The results of the test indicate that the CATL has significant potential in the convertiplane market, in particular for use in a "lead-in" training platform.
