Abstract

On 2 July 2019, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) released the Special Condition VTOL (vertical take-off and landing), the first airworthiness criteria for the design of VTOL aircraft. Based on the public expectations for these new means of transport, safety objectives have been tailored to different types of operations, with the highest level of safety provided for Commercial Air Transport of passengers and for third parties being overflown.
