Review of Calculation Analyzes and Tests of the SW-4 SOLO Helicopter in various Configurations

Abstract

This article presents an overview of issues related to the trials of the SW-4 SOLO helicopter in various configurations resulting from HELIMARIS and RPAS In Air projects. It covers a wide range of activities carried out by Engineering and Flight Line teams, both in the areas of calculation analyses and as a result of simulation studies, flight and ground tests. The subject of the document covers findings of two projects in which the SW-4 SOLO helicopter took part. One of them is the OCEAN2020 Project, in particular the part concerning the HELIMARIS stage with helicopter modification for the needs of over water operational capabilities, and the other is the RPAS In Air Project, where the main configuration change was innovative implementation of the system for satellite communication and a series of tests demonstrating the possibility of controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle with the use of a satellite data link.
