This paper describes a methodology for the determination of the aircraft inertia properties based on the selective assembly of optional kits and payload permutations. The methodology allows to calculate the W-CG envelope along a selected reference axis by maximizing the CG excursion at each step of the configuration buildup. Since the number of possible configurations for a given set of options and payload arrangements could easily become very high, the method is conceived to work on boundary configurations only in order to optimize the computation time. In addition, different levels of approximation for the W-CG envelope are available, further reducing the computational effort.
