Abstract

Vectored thrust eVTOL is one of the important development directions for future rotorcraft. With the diverse configuration and complex aerodynamic interference, it is difficult for the traditional modelling method to sim-ultaneously achieve the requirements of flexible modelling, high fidelity and real-time simulation. In this paper, a component-based method for real-time simulation of vectored thrust eVTOL and an aerodynamic interfer-ence model based on slipstream theory and viscous vortex particle correction are proposed. These methods are used to establish a flight dynamics model of a vectored thrust eVTOL aircraft. The model underwent flight simulation on a hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform. The results show that the modeling method is capa-ble of simulating the tilt transition phase; the aerodynamic interference will reduce the frequency and damping of the longitudinal short-period modes of the whole aircraft at the end of the tilt transition phase and the low-speed flight phase of the fixed-wing mode.
