dc.description.abstract In the time period spanned by the ERF from 1975 to 2014, technology has undergone colossal development and transition. These changes have affected the entire science and engineering disciplines. This paper focusses on the author’s experience in researching and teaching aeronautics and how the developments have helped in the understanding of the aeronautical discipline which has had a major impact on its progression. Most of the discussion will be devoted to rotary wing aspects.
