Abstract

This paper introduces a computationally efficient method for predicting aerodynamic interference effects in multirotor systems during forward flight. The approach combines a finite-state dynamic inflow model with both analytical and prescribed wake models. To assess its accuracy and performance, the method is validated against high-fidelity CFD simulations for a twin-rotor configuration. Results show that the proposed model effectively captures rotor-rotor aerodynamic interactions, making it well-suited for rapid preliminary evaluations of aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance in multirotor designs.
