| dc.description.abstract | Aerodynamic mutual interference occurring between rotors’ wake, fuselage and aerodynamic surfaces has a notable impact on the flight characteristics of a helicopter. A simple and flexible method for quantifying aerodynamic interaction between the rotor wake and airframe is presented. The model, implemented in the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) simulation framework, has been developed for both off-line and real-time helicopter simulation and was validated by compar-ison against an existing model already validated with flight test data. The model was also tested on the motion-based, virtual-reality flight simulator ZHAW High-Fidelity Simulator. | |
