Abstract

Three phases-Entry, Steady-descent, and Flare-of a unique technique for autorotation trajectory development for rotorcraft are presented in this research study. In the Entry and Flare stages, nonlinear optimal control programming is used to build trajectories, which are then stored in a library for selection according to flight conditions. The Steady-descent phase integrates the conditions of the Entry and Flare phases using spline interpolation. After that, a single trajectory is created by integrating the resulting trajectories from each phase. The behavior of the rotorcraft during autorotation is simulated using high-fidelity rotorcraft flight dynamic models, and an incremental backstepping control law is selected to track the trajectory that has been constructed. The suggested method, despite certain drawbacks, performs well in sample situations and offers prospective direction for further study.
